Introducing
THE SCARY SEMINAR

Master the art of fearful fun for your attraction
2-day Masterclass at Liseberg, Gothenburg, Sweden
November 25-26, 2026
THE SCARY SEMINAR FAQ
About the seminar
Who is this seminar for?
We focus very much on the niche art of scaring people and using fear in an entertainment context, be it Halloween events, walkthroughs, or other use cases in this realm. No prior knowledge of scare attractions or Halloween events is necessary, but it certainly doesn't hurt either. If you are a seasoned professional, you may still learn something new, but you may already be familiar with the techniques we'll cover, so we wanted to point that out.
What will I actually learn?
Hopefully a lot. We will be talking about the mechanics of fear and scaring guests in a safe yet effective way. For that, we will dive deep into what fear actually is and why it always comes with a slew of other emotional responses. Furthermore, we will focus heavily on storytelling and why it matters, while not forgetting to cover what the business side of concepts like this looks like.
And to top it all off, there will not just be theory lessons but also practical exercises where you will be encouraged to put your learnings to good use.
Do I need experience in the industry to join?
No prior experience in scare attractions or Halloween events is necessary, but it certainly can help you follow along more easily to get the most out of the seminar. Prior experience in any form of visitor attraction, however, is most definitely a plus.

How do I sign up?

What does the price include?
Your seminar fee includes the actual seminar, hotel accommodation at Liseberg's Grand Curiosa Hotel, breakfast and lunch. The scary mixer on Tuesday, dinners and access to the park on Friday are optional and not included in the price.
Is the deposit refundable if I change my mind?
The deposit is refundable up until October 20, 2026. After that, it becomes non-refundable, but you are welcome to transfer your booking to another person.
When is the deadline to register?
The deadline is November 1, 2026
Logistics
Is accommodation arranged for us, or do we book it ourselves?
Accommodation at Liseberg's Grand Curiosa Hotel is included in the seminar fee from November 24 to 26th (2 nights). If you would like to stay longer to explore Liseberg or Gothenburg on Friday, for example, or arrive earlier than Tuesday, you are welcome to make your own arrangements.
What should I bring?
Curiosity! Lots of it in fact. In general, an open mind is a very useful thing to have for this.
Do you offer any support for travel to Gothenburg?
Unfortunately, due to the complexity of travel arrangements these days, we can not provide any support for travel and transportation bookings.
What happens on Friday, November 27?
We have left Friday deliberately open to spontaneous decisions. No official program is scheduled for this day, and you may make your own arrangements with or without your co-attendees. It would, however, not be the first time that spontaneous shenanigans unfold after a seminar without our involvement, carrying the spirit of the content further.
Are meals included?
Breakfast and lunch are included on Wednesday and Thursday.
